Painting and Decorating FAQs

Are D and B Button Painting and Decorators members of Master Painters' Australia?
Yes. We are members of the Master Painters' Australia and we abide by their Code of Ethics.

Is there a difference between a painter, a painting contractor or a painter and decorator?
No. All of these terms are used to describe the trade of painting. Often a painter and decorator may include colour consultation and wallpapering , but it generally just applies to the painting trade itself.

I am painting my heritage home, am I limited to the traditional heritage paint colours?
Not at all. There is a huge range of paint colours that can be used to enhance the heritage decorative features of your heritage home without limiting your colour choices.

Do you do interior painting and exterior painting?
Yes. At D and B Button Painting and Decorating our painting contractors are fully experienced in interior painting and experior painting. Take a look at our interior painting gallery and our exterior painting gallery for examples of our completed painting around Castlemaine and regional Victoria.

Can I get a wallpapering contractor to hang a wallpaper feature wall?
Absolutely. Whether you are wallpapering a feature wall or wallpapering an entire room or several rooms, phone D & B Painting and Decorating for a free quote for your wallpapering project.

Do I need a professional to hang my wallpaper or can I do it myself?
We get many calls from clients who have begun their own do-it-yourself wallpapering and need our help to finish the job. Most people underestimate the difficulties associated with wallpapering. We have some wallpapering tips if you'd like to give it a try but we recommend hiring a professional wallpapering tradesman. Phone 0408 506 745 for a free wallpapering quote.

Will the painting contractors at D & B Button Painting and Decorators cover other areas of Victoria other than Castlemaine?
Yes. We cover a wide area of regional Victoria with our painting contractors including: Bendigo, Clunes, Creswick, Kyneton, Golden Point, Daylesford, Kangaroo Flat, Spring Gully, Guildford, Heathcote, Hepburn Springs, Kyneton, Lockwood, Macedon, Maldon, Gisborne, Maryborough, Newstead, Talbot, Trentham, Woodend and more. If your location is not on the list give us a call, we might be able to be your painting contractors anyway.

Once the painting contractors have been, how long does it take for the paint to dry?
It often depends on the paint and the weather conditions at the time you had the painting contractors in. It generally takes two weeks for paint to fully cure before the painted surface is completely dry.
